The Youth Services committee is a standing MCFLS committee that meets 6-7 times a year starting typically at 1:00 pm.
One of this committee's meetings will feature a Mock Awards. The group also has outside speakers on a regular basis such as the CCBC.
The meeting location rotates among volunteering libraries.
Agendas are planned by the Chair in consultation with the Recorder/Chair-Elect. The MCFLS Library Systems Administrator is available, as needed, to provide input and advice.
The Chair shall prepare and submit to the LDAC Chair, and copied to the MCFLS Director and MCFLS Library Systems Administrator, a written report (and/or minutes) of each meeting's activities. This report shall be due no later than two weeks after the date of the meeting.
To facilitate continuing education relative to children's services and materials, to provide an opportunity for peer interaction and information exchange concerning local children's services policies, programs and procedures, and at the request of the LDAC, to consider relevant issues and make recommendations. To jointly plan summer library programs, shared paid performances, and professional development.
